Please, care about the islands


Ten suggestions to make the islands greener, if we do it together:

1. Please, do not throw any non-organic waste anywhere on the islands or in the sea.

2. Please, save the water when showering, tooth brushing and when you do the dishes etc. Water is a very precious liquid here.

3. Please, do never remove corals, shells or other things that belongs to the sea. Many of the world's coral reeves are already destroyed. The reeves in the Surat Thani archipelago can still be saved, even if parts are damaged. Corals and shells belongs to the sea, not to a bookshelf.

4. If you are driving on the islands, why not use a car with an efficient catalytic converter. And why not walk short distances, and getting in better shape as a bonus?!

5. Please, use energy saving light bulbs and other energy saving products.

6. If you are a resort owner, please do not dump your waste in the ocean, as this behavior might harm the coast, beaches and coral reeves for hundreds of years. Why not think about the future of a successful business, instead of short time profits.

7. If you are involved in a construction site, please take care of your trash in a reasonable way. It belongs to you, not the nature.

8. If your computer, laptop or TV etc. is a little old, but still functional, please give it to a school or child instead of throwing it in the garbage.

9. Please, buy as much local produced products as you can. It is definitely good for the island, its environment and it's inhabitants in many ways.

10. Please, support companies that produce environment friendly and recyclable products.

Let these lovely island be a place for further generations to enjoy as well!
