Good Days

Having Fun

This morning the weather was a little bit cloudy but anyway okay. It really changes from day to day now but the rain mostly falls during the late afternoon and in the nights but it does not rain that much at all. Nui has been running low on coffee and the store, Macro who are the only ones here selling the coffee told us last time we went there that they had quit selling this brand. Luckily we got the telephone number to the company so that Nui could call them and see if she could buy directly from them. However the price would be slightly higher due to transportation and after a few phone calls the company said they will talk to Macro again and see if they could continue to have this brand in stock. After a few minutes they called again and said they will keep sending the coffee to Macro which was more than we expected to hear, but it would take one week until the next delivery. This coffee is so much tastier than any other we found here and Nuis costumers really think it is something special too.

While I was by the computer Nui decided to take Nala outside to ket her play with her tennis balls for a while. Black tagged along even if he does not understand the idea of catching the tennis balls. He anyway ran after Nala while she was hunting down the balls. Most Thai dogs are not used to play like this. The raining and the humid weather today had made the mosquitos a lot more than usual and Nui had to go back inside after a short while because she was bitter so much and normally she almost never gets bitten.

In the evening we were about to go to the beach even though the weather was cloudy. We were just about to take off when it started to rain and we changed our minds. Khun went away to a friend who had a birthday party while we looked at a movie.

Lazy Weekend

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Tuesday, July 27, 2010

This weekend was one of the most lazy ever. On Sunday we had almost no electric but it was enough to make the TV work. The computer however would not start. The weather was also very bad so we ended up staying inside all day long watching TV. Since Khun was at home we had to see dubbed movies and in Thailand they have zero to no skill at all to make it sound real. They all speak in such an extreme fake way and when it is children speaking in the movie adult fake their voices and when not looking it is impossible to tell if it is a cartoon or a "real" movie. After a while of that sound I had enough and went outside on the porch and read a magazine. I really hate to listen to dubbed movies in general and this takes the price. To make realistic voices is half the skill of an actor or not more I think.

Nala slept most of the day, or pretended to sleep so that she would not have to go outside and I do not complain about that either. The one good thing about bad weather is that the temperature drops. In the evening the electric came back 100% and I started to watch a movie by myself but after 50 minutes the power went out, this time 100%. It all got pitch black and we all went outside together and played a little games and just sat down and talked. The reason for these power cuts is that they are replacing the power poles with bigger ones so it really is for the better. Just before midnight the power came back for the second time.

Yesterday and today Khun have not been in school. They had two days off which practically meant that I had to put up with more sound of dubbed movies, it equals torture for me. After he had watched TV for 10 straight hours I had him turn it off I guess he did not mind that much but it was like heaven to my ears not having to crank up music to get away. Maybe I exaggerating but my gosh but I hate it so much, ha ha. As long as my problems stays on that level I guess one should not complain.

In the evening after working all day I relaxed with another movie, it has been a while since I saw any good movies so I appreciated it a lot.
