Leaving the Island

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Wednesday, January 19, 2011

The time has gone very fast and life is changing drastically to the better. Our last trip to Phuket made the reason to our past trouble with getting a house on Phuket very clear. We left Samui right before 5:30 in the morning and arrived to the ferry only 6 minutes before departure. After a shorter stop after the ferry to by something to eat and let Nala make her number 1 we drove off. About three hours later we had reached our destination and the first thing we did was to check the areas we liked the most for a house. On a small road we found a hose and after a short while we found an almost hidden sign with a phone number. There were two houses on the small yard with a wall around and I thought that it would work if we did not find anything better but it was not at all optimal. When we talked to the owner he said they had problem with water in the house which many people in this area has. However he had another bigger house that he could show us the next day because he was not at home at this point. We looked a little more but find nothing that seemed good so we went to get our room. In the evening I began to feel tired, I had only been sleeping a few hours the last night so that was not strange but I felt tired in another way so we went to bed early after we dropped Nala of with Jessica.

The next morning when I woke up I felt really bad with sore throat and fever which was very bad timing since I had a very important appointment in the late evening that I had to go to. Half the day I spent resting and at about 2 in the afternoon we went to see the houses. We started of at the one we saw yesterday but soon took off to the other one. This was just the perfect home I had seen many times in my mind. A big house at about 120-130 square meters on one floor that was lifted from the ground making the yard very spacious. Around the house was a 2 meter high wall and the house was located about 40 meters off the small road just meters away from the rising mountains. Sweet, the deal was sealed and dogs were welcome as well.

In the evening I took a few pills that I usually never do but I would not have made it otherwise so it was really necessary. It all went very well and it looks as if I will be having a huge amount of spare time and that I finally can start enjoying things. I also hope that Black will be happy and safe over there. Nala and Won Wai will for sure be better off there. The 25th in the morning a truck will drive our things to the new house and while putting my surround system down today it all became very real but it is not only with a smile. I like Samui a lot as well and there are things I will miss. Anyway that feels good, having several places that I know I like to live in. i just have to see upsides of the new place.

The house owner seem to be a good honest guy and I am so happy we have had so awesome people as house owners here as well. When we told them we were about to leave they wished us the best and we only had to pay half the rent for the half month period we will use the house. Now it is time to visit Tesco.
