Christmas presents

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Thursday, December 16, 2010

The rainy season seems to really be over now and we have had great weather all week long. We still have a small river along the road which has transformed the grass to long sea weed exactly as it looks in lakes. That only took about a month, really quick.

Today during my afternoon walk I met two happy boys who was walking home from school. I guess they were about 9 or 10 years old and they looked at Nala and said something to each other from a distance so I could not hear. When I got closer one of them said, I wonder if it bites, to the friend. I said that she did not and they looked up at me surprised and then hesitating approached Nala, who got happy as usual. I again said that she will not bite, again he looked up at me and only said. Speak Thai, with a strange face. Yes, I said, is that strange? The guys were still moving and had now passed me and one of them said, yes, strange and jumped way.

Today was also a strange day in the traffic. I was about to collide at half a dozen times even if I only went to buy ice in the morning and then pick up Khun at school which makes a total of a few km. Strange how incidents can come all in one day. It was not very close at any time but if I had not been driving as I always do it would have been more than only close. Two times it was motorbikes that tried to win a few milliseconds by using the wrong lain in a hidden turn and in an intersection. First they gave me a scare face and then a laugh. What can you say.

As a surpice to us we received a package with christmas gifts from my family in Sweden already today. Nui and Khun are both as curious but they have to wait until the 24:th which is when we celebrate in Sweden. I am not really sure if that will be possible. They would really love spending christmas with the family in Sweden not only for the giving and receiving gifts but for the whole "spend time together" thing.

Too Long Hair

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Monday, December 13, 2010

Today I woke up early. The reason was that I fell asleep early yesterday. The morning was sunny but with time it changed and we even got a little bit of rain during the afternoon. However we had a lot of sun during the day. Black has been gone today again, but there is no need to worry but I would like to know where he is because I have never seen him taking off. I rather have him here now since there are two big cats visiting our yard and they are not very nice to Won Wai who pretend being a statue when they arrives. They walk around here and screams like there would be lady cats around. So when Black is not here Won Wai spend most of the time sleeping on our bed or playing crazy games with Nala.

Today when Khun got home from school he had a new haircut. One of the teachers thought the hair especially in the front so they cut it off. As always it is important to put maximum attention to what is important, hehe. I rather see them fix the floor so that his new socks would last longer than 2 days which is the truth now because the concrete floor is so rough and shoes are not on the list of appropriate uniform inside.

Yesterday I went with Khun to the beach just a short while to get him off the computer and I have not been there for long. The season really is picking up and there were more people than I usually see but the weather is a little bit chilly at times and Khun had a hard time to understand why all the white people was playing in the water even during a chilly afternoon. The water might have been 28 degrees. According to a regular European summer that is kind of hight water temperature and I wish we will be able to go to Sweden this summer so he can get an experience of what life in another country could be like.

Now christmas really is closing in the only fact that makes me noticing is that is is Lucia otherwise I have not yet seen any sign of christmas here but when I think about it I think the office complex have put up a big christmastree. Today is also my little brothers birthday so it is time for me to call him.
