Wonderful Friday

Blue Sky

The last few days have been really great. The sun has been dominating the sky and only a few clouds has been visible but still I have to get my feet wet on every walk because the water from the mountains never ends. Even if the weather is great the temperature is really comfortable and not at all as hot as it can be. That is the great part of this season. It is hard to understand that it is now less than one month until christmas. I have spent the day listening to Swedish television online while working. I have been tired of the Thai TV for a long time now since they almost always show ghost movies, TV series where they only fight and betray each other or they have silly theatre shows. We do also have some other channels like science, nature and so but anyway I miss Swedish TV and luckily many of the channels do now have the shows online.

In the afternoon I went to pick up Khun but he was not there, none of his friends either and while I was waiting I heard two younger girl telling a lady that the 5:th and 6:th graders had not come back yet, they had been in another school to compete so I went back home. After a short while Khun called me so I had to take another break and go pick him up. It seems as it is easier to call when the option is to walk than it is to call and say that I do not have to come in the regular time, kids!

I guess this weekend will be just as a regular week. If the wether is okay Nui want to work which I think is good after the long break she had. Even if I am tired of Thai TV I will now go see if they air some great ghost movie.

Have a great weekend.

Insects and Rain

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Wednesday, November 24, 2010

It really is not a funny time right now here on Samui. The weather is going back and forth and when you think it is okay weather you can stand in rain seconds after. This morning I got back from my walk with Nala and was preparing her shower. While I did that I heard a sound just as a train came closer and closer. During the walk I was thinking that soon the water filled road might be dry again since it is not raining as before, that weather was really good this morning too. The sound I heard was rain which git closer and closer, I cannot recall that I heard such a noise before, not like this. It really came as a wall and I grasped a big parasol just the same second it started to rain like crazy so we could finish the shower without extra water from above.

There are still some things that really messes up my mind and those things are the dammed ticks that just never dies no matter if it is dry of flood, I have had a few ones the last week to that sneaks up in bed from the floor. The second thing is Nalas skin problem. I just cannot give up but we cannot keep on like this either. During the last months when Nui have not been able to work we spend a big portion of the income for treatment and it just do not help at all. Now it has been going on for half a year and i am so sick of spending money on things like this. I try to comfort myself that we will not have to waste more time and money on my visa, at least that is something. If I can complain some more I can also say that I get completely savaged by mosquitos on a daily basis now. We use to have the windows open all days and all nights without any mosquitos, but now they are everywhere. We almost never see them and Nui and Khun never even notice them but I do, because they eat me. I really do not think they are so many but in a matter of 10 minutes I can end up with 20 bites on me feet. Well, that really is a small issue I think.

Since it was raining today, well we had glimpses of sun as well, I have not been doing very much except working non stop by the computer since the early morning.

I think the weather is anyway slowly, slowly getting better and better but I think we will have this unstable weather for a while.
