Finally An End

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Friday, November 19, 2010

After my morning gym session I went back home in the rain, ate some food and planned on heading to see if my visa was ready. In the next instance when I looked out side the sky had started to shift in blue colors and the rain had stopped. That was great. When I got to the office I went straight into the little room behind to see if the guy I have been seeing the last few times was there which he was. He was on the phone and so I waited for a short while and listened to the conversation. He really is not speaking in a polite way, I have never heard him do that but in some way he does in with charm. I cannot say why but if anyone else would act as he do I would really think that one was a pure jerk. Yesterday he was throwing passports across the room because people was acting to slow according to him.

Anyway when he was done in the phone he looked up and said that they had everything fixed. They got the fax back already yesterday and that single paper was all they waited for. He placed some stamps in my papers and so and then he said he was hungry and rushed away while he handed the papers to another guy sitter on the desk next to him. This more low profiled guy fixed a few last things before we were done. It actually felt better than I had thought. After all the crazy troubles I thought I would not really feel happy, might sound strange but that is what I thought. Now it really feels great not having to think about any more trips and other things. I do not even have to leave the country which was kind of the idea and that feels great. I really hated those boring trips back and forth to the borders.

The rest of the day was good, the weather never switched back to rain mode again and we got quite a nice afternoon. Khun just went to a friend who has a birthday party so when Nui gets back from Tesco we will see a movie and eat some snacks, at least I hope she will buy any.

Have a nice weekend.

Making the Car Happy

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Thursday, November 18, 2010

Today I finally got to the gym in the morning, it has been a while since last time because I have had other things to take care of. When I got home I sat down to eat some food and when I had eaten half I hear birds screaming like crazy and I looked over and saw 10 to 20 bird flying around. Below then I saw Won Wai who had caught a quite small chicken. I ran over in lightning speed and Won ran off as soon as he saw me. The chicken ran off as well and I think he was not really hurt. While Won was fleeing from me he had crossed a muddy section of the lawn and was all muddy. I reached under the car where he was hiding and lifted him up in the neck. The same second he just goes into a sleep state of mind which is really handy. While holding him like this I used the hose to shower him and he just hung there. I hope he connects this to catching birds, because he must learn the hard way and I know he will without me hurting him.

After I had finished my meal I cleaned the car, I really needed it both on the inside as well as the outside. The long period with humid weather has made the car grow a tiny fur on some parts of the inside that I had to get rid off and the rest of the day I left all doors open. We actually had a sunny day all day today, well, all day until I headed to buy tea for Nui. After I picked up Khon at school we went to see Nui at the beach road and she told me she had only a little tea left and since I will have other things to do tomorrow and also on monday when we have to go to the vet with Nala I needed to go buy the tea today. After I had been driving for only a minute it started to rain like crazy even if the sky did not look as if it would release any rain. It rained all the 20 minutes it took me to drive and because of the heavy rain I had to drive slow and still it was hard to see at times. Luckily I had a raincoat under the seat of the bike so I did not need to get soaked.

Anyway I am happy if we have nice days like this. If it rains in the after noon or at night it is still okay. Tomorrow it is already Friday and I hope I will be able to put an end on my visa story.

What a day, again

Samui Work

Today was the day when I was supposed to get pick up my new visa. We went away in the morning and at the immigration they said they needed the bankbook statement and that the office could not give the visa without that. Thats just crazy since I got a statement saying that I have the money in the account why could they need more. We had a statement at home but that only show my money in the Swedish currency and I have assumed that this is not very interesting for them but as a last try we went back and picked that up. When they saw it they said that it would work and since I only have two days left on my visa now they faxed it to the head office and I will be able to pick up the visa on Friday, at least I hope. Again I get frustrated that they are handling things in such a strange way, I have an official statement from the bank saying what I have in the account but that is not okay. It is even more annoying that one can buy visas without any hassle for a kind of low cost compared to what the travels back and forth through the country cost.

Today the weather has been really good all day but Nui could not work since she came along with me, and if I am not at home I cannot go buy the ice and help with the heavy things. The long rainy weather has had an impact in the mosquitos and we do now have some in the house all days long compared to before when we almost never had any inside.

When we headed away in the morning we had no electric and by the road on our way we saw that they were working on the electric cables but they were all done when we came back home again. I have been really tired and this long procedure with the visa really eats my energy more and more for each time. Even if it was only a matter of a few hours before I had things sorted our this time it kills the energy totally. Now it has been 6 month since I started the things needed for the visa and I hope it ends on Friday.

Now it is time for some late dinner and TV time.

Yesterday we had heard that it should be another rain weather entering the south. The day was very good in the morning and I was happy they were wrong with the rain report. Nui was preparing for work when the sun suddenly disappeared and it started to rain. It did not keep raining for that long but the rest of the day was kind of cloudy. The Saturday however was very good. Yesterday in the early night it started to rain again and the thunder was making loud noise continuously for hours which made me stay awake until the morning hours. I had probably slept a little bit without really knowing when Nala started to wine wanting to go out. It was 4:30 but I had no option but had to let her out. She almost never has these stomach problems any more but it was bad timing since I had barely slept anything. When I got back inside I was so hungry I had to eat and then I started to work instead. By 9 in the morning I had to go to sleep. My planned gym session had to be rescheduled to tomorrow instead. Tomorrow I will have to wake up early as well bacuse Jessica will go back to Phuket. She came here together with Khun on Sunday, he had had a very good time during his stay with Jessica and Baeng.

Today the weather has been really okay until the afternoon when the sun decided to hide behind clouds. I just read in the papers that we can expect more heavy rain before wednesday, hope they are wrong with that prediction. It has been a lot of weather talk lately and it will be great when the monsoon ends and the sun are back on daily basis again.

The one good thing is that I have got time to sort out my huge music collection and been listening to a lot of new great tunes.
