Low Clouds

When I had woken up and went for the ritual walk I called Dog Rescue Center to check up on the little puppy that I had saved after being hit by a car. I gave then all info I had and after a few minutes they called me back and I was happy to hear that the little puppy had had such en enormous luck. He had not broken any legs and no other injuries and he was not able to walk almost as normal. I had never guessed that. I thought it might be wore than it looked like not least since he could not transport himself an inch. However it must have been extremely painful to get the fur and skin ripped of the flesh. The guy first thought I was the owner and said that we could come pick him up so I explained that I only passed by and saw him laying on the road. They said they did not know what to do with him yet, I rather not have another dog around here not least a small puppy as it is right now with be spending most of the time by the computer. If I did not have to do that I could easily have a few more.

After that phone call we took off to the vet with Nala and they were pleased to see that her skin was so good al ready. Now we will have to wait and see what happens when she is off the medicine.

When we got back home there were a lot of clouds just above the mountains on one side, on the other the clouds were laying on the ground and the top of the mountain were completely clear. It looked really cool. The rainy weather has stayed with us even today and it has given us a very fresh feeling n the air with about 28 degrees temperature. I just realized that another week has flu by in an enormous speed. Have a great weekend.

Monsoon Time

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Thursday, October 28, 2010

Today we had another day with varied weather. Heavy rainfall mixed with some less heavy rainfall and also a few glimpses of sun, very small glimpses. As usual the buffalos in the neighborhood are happy to get water to lay in and as I said before, some rain is great but if it is to many days in a row it is not that fun anymore. I spent most o the day inside and Nui did the right decision not to head out. The was uncertain first but then the rain came down really hard.

What is great news is that Nalas fur and skin is getting so much better for the first time. Tomorrow we will have to visit the vet again so they can check up but she almost never scratches herself now which is such a big relief. I hope it will stay this way even when the medicine is finished. Another good thing is that I wrote a short mail to LG about our TV and told them what the costumer service told us in the phone. I also said that since we have been clearly told nothing was wrong with the TV it is just a fact that LG is not as good as the Sony TV and that it is normal for LG TVs to have strange colors. Today in the morning I got a phone call from their head office where I was told that they will sen down some special part that the service center will install for us that will solve the problem. He also said that they know about this issue so that was also good, not having to spend more time on that thing.

The last thing is that it seem as Blacks eye is getting better. It looked pretty messy for a while after he got that claw in his eye but we still check on it 2 times every day and use eye drops to keep it clean. Poor Black has had more encounters with that evil little cat and also one of his friends which is a huge cat with a large head that looks almost bizarre. Black only have pure love inside and want to protect Won Wai, our little cat from getting beat up.

Leaving for Sweden

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Today we all woke up to a rainy weather. The rain were coming down pretty hard and I went back to sleep. When I woke up again the clock was already 10 and that was the time I planned to be in the gym. I went up and make breakfast and then took off to the gym 15 minutes later. The rain had almost stopped at this time but while training the rain was turned on and off several times. The day kept being very gray and it actually rained most of the day even if it was not heavy rainfall all the time.

In the evening Nui and I went down to my sisters hotel and we sat on the porch for a while taking to each other and then went on to eat a lunch. The beach was almost completely empty and some waves came rolling in but still the ocean seemed calm. We only saw a few people walking on the beach in the rain and one guy came jogging by. The sky really were totally grey all over.

At 6 in the evening we drove off to the airport and said bye to my sister. She really had a super nice weather all the time during her stay, better than I dared to hope for. On our way back we stopped by Big C to buy a donut, both Nui and I suddenly got a huge donut urge at the same time and Mr Donut have some great ones, I think they are called Ponderlings.

Now I just hope that we will not get such a bad weather that it has been in almost 25% of the country. The flooding in these parts has been the worst in over 100 years and in the news hey said that the rain was on its way south. I do not think we have to fear any flooding here apart from the very local ones. Our mountains are probably way to small to collect big masses, but what do I really know about that. For many of the people in the areas with the extreme flooding life will not be very easy even after since huge areas of farmland is completely submerged and will not have anything to harvest. As usual the already poor people will be the one with the biggest losses. For my sake rain a few days are okay but then it is not fun anymore and also Nui cannot work. For some reason I did not sleep very well this night so I will soon lay down watching some TV and just relax.

Lots of Impressions

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Tuesday, October 26, 2010

The first half of the day I spent by the computer and in the afternoon I went with Nui to pick up the TV that we left for reparation a few weeks ago. They called us today and said they got it back from the main reparation center and they also said that nothing was wrong with it. This mean that they did not replace anything, which then also mean that we will have the same strange colors. I was not very happy about that and as soon as we got home we took the other TV away and put this one back and then turned it on. Yep, the colors were back. When we picked it up it looked okay so it is obviously something with our house but there are no problems what so ever with the other TV that we now have been using in the exact same place. My conclusion is that this LG TV literally sucks in some way.

Later I drove with my sister up in the mountains again and she really enjoyed the fabulous views and she even got a little nervous from the steep hills and roads. I was surprised since she likes skydiving and such extreme sports. When we drove down it was already dark and we then headed back home. Suddenly a small puppy appears in front of me on the road. The tiny puppy was hurt and could not stand up but desperately tried to get off the street where the cars were driving by in high speed. I quickly stopped and ran back and before I got there a few cars were passing by and I thought that the puppy would be completely run over before I got there but luckily both cars did turn away in last second, the second one turned so that the dog came under the car but never got hit by the tires. I quickly took up the puppy that I estimate to be about 7-9 weeks old while trying to have an eye on the crazy late evening traffic without getting myself run over. When I picked up the puppy I saw that the front leg had got the skin and fur ripped off and it had been pulled down quiet far and it was pure flesh on he inside leg. I did never check the leg if it were broken or not but I would be amazed if it was not. When we got the puppy the side of the road I quickly called Dog Rescue Center who said they would come in about 30 minutes. After 10 minutes they called and asked if they could come tomorrow morning and I made very clear that that was not really possible. The puppy was laying still and he was drooling very extreme and also had blood around the moth which probably came from the leg. Now we could only wait and try to make the little puppy feel as comfortable as possible in that condition. He sometimes screamed and tried to move but came nowhere and we did our best to make him lie down completely still. After 45 minutes the Dog Rescue came and brought him to the shelter in Chaweng. My sister was kind of taken already before from the mountain trip and then she got this thrown right on her so she was exhausted when we finally drove back home. But both of us have the same opinion with things like this, there is just one option available and that is to do what ever possible to help another fellow animal. I will probably do a checkup on the puppy later on and see what condition he was in and also see what they will do with him.

For anyone visiting Koh Samui please have the number to a Dog rescue Center in your mobile. Preferable one of their mobile number which is 0818939443 and this number can be called if seeing an accident or a dog in bad condition.

Taking a Bath

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Monday, October 25, 2010

Today, yet another sunny day just as perfect as the whole weekend. At Saturday we planned to sleep early and I said guy to my sister. The next day my sister sent me an SMS at 10 in the morning that the plans to sleep early had not went well and that she should get some sleep now. She later told me that she went to buy cigarettes and on the way back she took a beer at a bar and played some games with the staff. When they closed she followed them to a nearby place where they spent some hours and then went on to another place so she got home at 10 right when she sent me the SMS.

Yesterday we went to Chaweng to relax on the beach in the late evening, my sister liked it a lot. Very relaxing to lay on the beach sipping on a coke or a drink and talk. We got home about two in the night. Today we as most days met up pretty late and Khun and I went down to my sister and we then took of to a nearby beach. The clock was past 5 already and we stayed in the water for almost an hour and then we went up in to the mountains to grab something to eat and to watch the great views. We then went back home, I had brought the keys and Ni was about to arrive at home.

In the late evening the black cat came sneaking on to our yard, Black tried to force him away but got caught in the eye while doing so. He now has the eye shut and I hope he did not hurt it much, I tried to take a look but could not see any damage.
