Poor Little Bird

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Friday, October 1, 2010

Little Bird

This night we had some heavy rainfall and it had not stopped when it was time for Khun to go to school. His mobile was ringing non stop, all his friends wanted to know if he was going to school or staying at home. He did not get away that easy since we not have the car. Later in the morning the rain stopped and while I was laying in the bed I got more and more tired and in the next blink when I looked at the clock it was already noon. Since I do not feel well I allow myself to sleep during daytime and damn that felt good. I took a walk with Nala and then we brought the TV to a service center, the same one as last time because that is the only one on the island where the guarantee is valid and that is also expiring in one month. When we got there a guy worked with the TV for ten minutes and then said it was okay, I saw when he checked the screen and I also saw that it was not okay so I told him I wanted to see it before we leave. He put on the TV and the corners were much better but not okay. He then fixed a little more but still it was not 100% and I said that it is no idea to bring it home and just waste time when it is not completely okay so now they will sent it to Bangkok and get it repaired. I am just happy that we still had some days left on the guarantee.

When we got home we found a small bird on the porch, and I am quiet sure that our new family member Won Wai is the guilty one here. The bird was not dead but it had some wounds. As soon as I started to check the bird Won Wai came running and for the first time I gave a cat a lesson about my rules and I send him flying. He shook it off but for sure got surprised but came over again with that hunting attitude and I gave him another one way air born ticket and when he then saw the bird he ran away. He get served food by us everyday which is not very "normal" for a predator so then it is just as "normal" to not let him hunt. We put some iodine at the wounds and the flies disappeared right away and then he got some water. He seemed kind of strong but would not eat. We then placed him in a basket just outside our yard and we will have to wait and see if the parents find him. Otherwise I do not know how we could help the bird. Maybe we should consider opening up some kind of farm, I guess we will not have any problem finding animals.

Stupid Kid

Today we had a morning that was hard to read, weather wise. Sometimes we have dark cloud over the mountains but that usually does not mean rain, today the dark clouds came from the sea and we were sure it would be rain. However the clouds stood almost still and it took a few hours until they reached our house but at that time they were not that dark anymore. After a while it anyway started to rain a lot.

I did not feel good and this explained the lack of motivation in the gym. Every time I lack motivation as much as this it takes a week or so and then I do not feel good. I rested a few hours during the day and other from taking a few walks with Nala I stayed at home. During one of the walks with Nala I met a young boy who was running, I think he is in the same school as Khun. He was looking a lot at me and Nala and I said hi to him and he smiled back. He then took off and then stopped hundred meters away by the side of the road. He saw the young buffalo standing in the palm tree forest and I saw that he picked up something and then threw at the buffalo, he then picked up a new stone and threw again and again. He was lucky I was so far away and I started to walk towards him and whistled as high as I could and he looked towards me. I waved to him to stop and he ran away. Really tragic to see someone do like that, no doubt that it is something missing in such a brain and with lack of parenting that will probably not be a good person when he grows up.

In the evening we relaxed in the bed with some movies. Our TV that last week started to show strange colors in the corners is acting the same again so it was not enough to only degauss it.

Early Morning

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Today I woke up at just after 6 in the morning and soon after I had been able to open up my eyes I drove Jessica to the her bus pickup spot but no bus was there. We came 4 minutes late because we always have to wait for the bus anyway but not this time. The lady who drives the minivan to Nathon also have a bunch of school kids when taking this ride and she cannot wait. Jessica got most of what she paid for the ticked in refund and took a Song taew to Nathon where she bought a new ticket. She called me and said it was raining like crazy over there while in Lamai we had sunshine.

When I got back home Nui drove Khun to school as every day. I went back in to bed for a while and watched some TV and then got up and fixed some things at the computer and then headed off to the gym. I worked out for about 40 minutes, only did shoulder workout and then I felt I had enough. I think I caught a cold the last few days and it just kills motivation even more.

The rest of the day was spent inside the house except for a few walks with Nala and Black of course who always tags along even if he sometimes have a hard time letting go of the cat. They play almost all days long together, when he is not taking a nap under our car which is his new favorite place. Now it is time for a late dinner and then the usual TV time.

Stubborn Cat

Stubborn Cat

The weekend was great, as planned we went on a few beach pick nicks and ate grilled chicken, som tam and more. When the sun had set and it became dark we went back home. Yesterday I went to the gym in the morning but I really had no enthusiasm at all. I guess the training has become less important and since I am in great shape living my regular life I do not worry about that. I will go to the gym when I feel like it.

In the afternoon when Khun had come home from school i helped him to install a online dance game and he showed me his moves. Wow, I was really amazed about the speed he had. The game will show you a combination of arrows which you will have to do and at the right time you then need to hit the space bar. He had finished off all the arrows when I had just seen the first two or three.

After a while he shouted for me saying that the cat was inside the room and I went in there and saw that the cart was not at all inside the room. He was outside the closed window but inside the steel window bars and he could not get out. I first tried from the outside but then had to open the window to get him out. Crazy cat, I guess he will not try that one again.

Today it has not happened anything special. The weather has been a little cloudy but it has not been raining anything during daytime.
