My Sister Will Visit

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Friday, August 20, 2010

Yesterday a friend to Khun and his family woke up at 4 in the morning by a loud noise. They live just by the temple and went out to what was going on. Just outside the temple a motorbike laid on the ground and the driver not far away. The man who was probably very drunk had been driving in high speed in the 90 degree turn and could not make the turn but had crashed right into one of the two giant statues protecting the entrance. The man died instantly.

This night I woke up 2:30 because my telephone was ringing. It was my sister who needed to ask some urgent questions. She had found tickets for a good price here and needed to know a few things before she dared to buy them. So in less than two months my sister will come visit, I have not seen her in more than one and a half year so I really looking forward to that.

The last night I have been sleeping very bad because Nala have had problems with her ears more or less every night. It is very strange that she did not have any problem for more than six months but now suddenly it gets like this. In Sweden she used to have itchy ears now and then but never for a long time like this. I really hope it disappears very soon, it must be very tiring for her. Some mornings I slept till 11 which is not something I usually do but I have been like a zombie. Last night I went for a walk with Nala at 4 in the night just to let her get some fresh air. Her itchy ears drives her crazy at times and sometimes it helps with a walk. I was more like sleepwalking but I think it made good for Nala and I also got some sleep when we got inside.

This evening we will look at a movie and just stay inside, the weather is not very good now in the evening even if the day have been really okay except for the early morning when it was raining.

No Electric Again

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Thursday, August 19, 2010

Rainy Samui

Today we had a soft day, not that we wanted it to be a soft day but we had no option. At 8 in the morning he electric went out, so we assumed they were working by the main road again. Luckily the weather was not very good and the sky was very cloudy which made the temperature somewhat acceptable. As soon as our fans stops it can get extremely hot after just a few seconds. No electric meant no TV, no computer and dark clouds means no good business for Nui. After we had been sitting on the porch just staring at nothing Nui came with the idea to go to the beach instead of just doing nothing and so we did. The sky were blue at many places when we got to the beach and the sea was completely calm with no waves what so ever.

There were almost no people at the beach when we ran out in the water. It was very warm but the further out we went we felt sections with cold water on many places. Strange how it can be like that, I think it should get mixed up and more equal. At the horizon we saw that it was raining heavily and we suddenly noticed that dark clouds were coming over the mountains by the beach. When we went from home we thought that we would be swimming in the rain so it did not really surprise us when the clouds came closer. In just a few minutes the clouds were right above us and it started to rain like crazy. Since we had some stuff with us we had to hide from the rain instead of staying on the water. While we was standing under a roof we saw the mountain slowly disappear in the rain and suddenly we could not see it at all. When the rain almost stopped we went back home again and the electric did not get back until about 17.

In the evening we looked at the movie "Stand by me" which I have not seen in probably 15 years and Nui had never seen it.

Stuck In The Fitting Room

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Monday, August 16, 2010

The weekend just flew by and I have had a lot to do which means that I have been staying home very much by the computer. I am happy that the internet has been so much better than before, it only shuts down for a few minutes now and then.

This morning I went to the gym for the first time in 5 days, that felt great and I slowly are gaining back size and strength even if its in a slow tempo. Last week we sat chatting with a french guy who has been here training and fighting for a while and he did not believe what my weight is but thought I was 10 kilo heavier. It ended with us going to the nearest 7-eleven store to check my weight.

Today I picked up Khun from school very late, they were having extra classes. I guess that's needed since they never do anything in school. Last week on Thursday they ended school after only a few hours. It was the queens birthday so this was a very special day. The day before they did not teach anything but spent all day decorating the school for the upcoming day.

The weather has been very on and off but the last few days have been very hot and sunny. This evening we went to Tesco to do our regular shopping and Khun showed up with a pair on insanely small pair of pants that he wanted to have. I was like, is he joking or is he serious. He was dead serious. I took the pants and checked the size tag which said the pants was made to fit a 4 year old. Ok, it must be a big four year old but even if Khun is small he is 12 and far bigger than a four year old. Since these were the last ones according to Khun Nui and I said that if you want them you have to try them first otherwise you can put them back right away. He snuck away to the closest fitting room and after a short time we hears a tiny voice crying for mom. He had tried to force the pants on to show us that he could have them and managed to get them almost all the way up to the waste but the legs had now got stuck and he just could not get them off. After a while Nui got them off and he did not mention that he wanted them any more. i was laughing as crazy while I heard them inside the fitting room so this made my day.

Now I will try to relax a while and eat another late dinner. Tomorrow I have promised to pick up Jessica at the airport, she very sudden went a few days to Bangkok with some friends and will returning early in the morning.
