Friday

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Friday, July 9, 2010

This night I did not wake up as many times as before Black was staying somewhere else but I could still here him bark for some hours. It is unbelievable that other people do not care about having a barking dog outside the window for hours. We have a few dogs close by who bark like crazy every time someone pass by. Black is not one of them, normally, but that's because we taught him not to. The dog that used to bite black when he first came to us have been absent for many days and we thought he might have died but the owner told us yesterday that he had been bitten by a snake and had a hard time eating. His jaw does not seem to work as normally they said so they have been going back and forth to the veterinary.

In the evening we were planning to go eat a dinner at Chaweng beach and then see some more thai boxing. Last time we went because a friend of Jessica was having a fight and tonight it was time for another friend. After we had our dinner at the beach we went to the stadium but there were no people or cars outside at all. He probably said the wrong day or something so we headed back home instead, had a coffee and soon it is time to sleep but first we have to take a last walk with Nala.

This weekend is completely unplanned, I guess I will stay by the computer to finish some music productions and maybe we will go to the beach. The weather has been super great the last few days with a crystal clear blue sky and we might head to Bangkok already on Monday so a relaxing weekend would be very nice. Have a nice weekend.

Hard to Sleep

Thaiboxing

This morning I woke up late and tired. Black had been howling as crazy during the night and I went up several times to tell him to stop. The first times I did it in the window and he listen very good. But he then started again and I could not see a reason why he acted like this. After I had listened to him for ten minutes non stop I went up again but this time I went out in the dark and gave him a physical correction and I also closed our gate. I do not know how long after but he started again and I flew up in anger and as soon as he heard my steps he made himself small and hurried back home. This time I told him to come up to the porch and then closed that gate too. In the morning when Nui was heading to school with Khun he was not there and he was gone all day. A lady who live close by told us she had seen him by his old owners house which is just a minute away. We thought he might be angry at me but hello, it is a dog, they do not think like that so I assumed it might be a female that might have made him lose his mind and yes it was. Now it is about time to take a chat with his real owners about having him castrated. Even if he is our dog now we feel that we want to let them know first. Black came back home in the evening again. The strange thing is that we have not heard any dog fights and the female dog is living in the same yard he used to live at and the black and white dog that used to bite Black before lives next door. I have not seen that dog for a while so maybe he left earth.

In the evening we went too see some thai boxing in Chaweng. I have heard that the fights are not at all as they were before so I had very low expectations. I was surprised. Even if the fights were not top class most of them were very entertaining. What I heard about fighting with low spirit and sometimes even staged fight were not the case here. The fighters were fighting to the last second and I think they did a good job at least it seemed as they really did their best. Maybe we went the right night but it sure was good and entertaining.

Leaving the Island

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Tuesday, July 6, 2010

Today was the day my family headed back home, yesterday we had a nice evening but I guess all of us could feel the little tense feeling because knowing it was the last night. We played some games and had a drink by their house.
This last day was spent by the pool and we went with them to the airport in the early evening. The sun was still shining when we got to the airport and after we had checked in the luggage we went into the village like area before the main gate where we sat down for a while. We then said goodbye and we left the airport and went sat down on a mountain close bye for a good while.

On our way back home we went to Macro to buy some things. It is always a very strange feeling when the family are leaving and it really feels empty for a while before getting back to the normal life again. We are all happy about these three weeks and the mix with one week in a beach hotel and then 2 weeks in a house close to us was just perfect. Even if we spent a lot of time at the beach and by the pool just chilling together they got to see a lot of the island in a few days. This weekend we went one day to Choeng Mon just to let them see another nice beach. We stayed there a few hours and on the way back home we went up in the mountains to see some great views. I really hope we can spend the christmas in Sweden but we do not now yet.

Now we will focus on getting everything finished with my "never ending visa story" that I hope will soon end and then hope that the Swedish currency will get stronger so that we can take the next step with the land and house plans.
