Yawning Friday

Nala on Samui

Not much of a good sleep tonight. I woke up in the very early morning, still pitch black outside. My body was itching all over and I had been bitten by a mosquito 5-6 times on the hands, arms, chest and foot. I would guess it was only one mosquito as well. They act as psychos and just bit you all over. I think she did not even eat but just injecting the anti clot substance and then waiting in a corner of the roof laughing while seeing me scratch myself all over the body in my sleep.

A few hours later Nala woke me up, she had stomach ace and needed to eat some grass. After a shorter walk I went inside again to get some sleep or at least just snoozing a bit but only minutes later it was time again so I gave up the sleeping. Nala is spending some of the days laying outside counting passing cars and usually she want to go inside for a nap in the bed as well. This little princess knows how to get it comfortable.

The weather is still very good with about 32 degrees and mostly blue sky. It has not been raining for many a long time and everything has become very dry. We have not been to the beach since Jessica was here, or well we have, on the south-coast. But I think that we will go take a swim this weekend.

On Sunday it is Valentine's Day, that is not to forget. We have not made up any plans yet but we will definitely do something a little special. Tonight we will see the very long movie Avatar which have got very good reviews. I hope it is as good as people say it is. Have a good weekend.

Old Games

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Thursday, February 11, 2010

After the regular morning duties a friend started to chat with me about that he wanted to play Counter Strike, a very famous war game. Since both me and my friend have Mac computers games are not really supported and we installed one of the many software that makes it possible to run windows applications without having to install windows for real. Now it is also possible to buy games that you never get a physical copy of and that you play through the retail website. I have not been playing games for a long time so all this is new to me but it will be nostalgic to play again when I get the time, even if I will probably suck.

Today I have had things to do which have ripped the day apart and things most often takes more time then expected. One of those things was to go to Macro in Chaweng to buy cups and other things for Nui.

When it was time to take a dark evening walk with Nala, Black joined us. At the same spot where Nala acted as she got bitten by something that sounded almost like a rattle snake we heard another strange sound in the palm tree forest. A mix of frog, duck and some other sound. I thought someone was playing around but that seem very strange, standing there in the middle of the forest. I have no idea what it might have been and since it is so dark I could not see anything.

Since I started to work out again, not least the last few days, my hunger has been enormous and I would have to eat every second hour not to get hungry. That I do not do so I end up being very hungry most of the day. Yesterday I ate 3 dinners with less then 2 hours in between and it will be the same today. At least I know the results comes fast if I eat but i really do not want to gain any fat...

The weather has been terrific and I think it will stay this way. The sun is heating up the days and in the evenings when the sun set it gets very refreshing.

Clear Night Sky

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Wednesday, February 10, 2010

The last nights have been wonderful. During the walk before bedtime the sky has been total clear and filled with stars. Two nights ago Nui saw her first shooting star. I missed it by a second. During our little walk we pass a pitch black part where the lamps along the road never works. I let Nala take a pee right before it gets super dark and a bat came flying right in between us. We were standing only a few decimeter from each other and if felt as if it was very big because it was so close. We went on into the dark and Nala was sniffing along the road. Suddenly she stopped, something was of interest at this spot. A second later she took a fast step back and started to throw her paws onto her nose. In the grass we heard a sound just like a rattlesnake but not as loud. We have no idea what it might have been but Nala did not have any bite marks and she did not have any pain.

This morning during our walk a car came up at our side. Two white guys was sitting in the car and the driver said that I had a really nice dog. He pulled over in front of us and he came out, which I thought was a little odd. I said that he obviously must like dogs and he asked how old Nala was. He then told me that he had a puppy just like Nala that got stolen from his yard a few months ago, and the puppy was about 3 month at the time so I guess he wanted to see if it might been his. There are many bad people in our world.

The day has been good as well and my afternoon work out felt great for the first time in a long time. Yesterday I went in the morning right after breakfast and I felt very weak. Not really the best to eat and then take off before the energy reached the body. When I came to the gym they were out of electric and the sun was shining as never before. It can be hot with the electric as well since they only have a few slow rotating fans, but now it was really hot. The wind did not reach in to the gym either so in contrast to that today felt completely different.

Now it is time for us to take off to Tesco for the evening shopping.

Lovely Weekend

Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Monday, February 8, 2010

After a quiet and nice weekend the Monday came very fast.

On Saturday I went to play tennis for two hours with three friends. My body was still aching badly after the days in the gym, which I just like. The tennis made the muscles softer and we did not stop playing until it was to dark to see the balls. Since we had played for long we did not bother to turn on the lights. When I got back home Nui was already there sitting outside waiting for me. I had the key with me but luckily she had only been waiting a few minutes.

Nui and I went down to our "hidden" place on the south-coast just enjoying the nice nature. This place is only reached from one small road, almost like a small community with very few houses and a long section of beach. Just a minute walk from the beach we have a piece of land that we had in mind for long, one piece I never wrote about before. New thoughts have popped up in our minds again since it is such a great place. We have really taken it slow with these plans which I think is the right thing and we will not take any further steps until we both know for sure where we want to have our house. As for now we have three different places. They all have their positive sides and being very close to the ocean really is something special and I can imagine nice walks with Nala in the shallow water. On the other hand it is nice to have just one minute down to center Lamai. A problem that might seem small but the choice will make the everyday life very different.

The weather has been very good today and all weekend as well. After we had been in the areas we like so much we went on to another spot, also close by the water to chat for a while. The time here pass on fast as always and it was soon time to head back home to take Nala for a walk and to make dinner. One morning we had a visitor on the kitchen wall. It was Spiderman. More than one decimeter wide. We did not care about him and later he was gone.... at least for a while.
