Dreams and Future
Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Thursday, December 17, 2009
Today I woke up to a cloudy sky. After about an hour it was sunny and after another hour or so the weather turned around again. In the afternoon it started to rain and rained for about 3 hours which is the longest rainfall we had since relocating from Phuket.
A few days ago Nui had a dream about a friend in trouble and she dreamt that she had become very thin. When she woke up in the morning she felt that she needed to know and called her mother to ask if she new anything. It all made sense, the friend had become very thin rapidly and she did not feel very well with some problems in her life. Nui's dreams are to be taken serious, this is not the first time her dreams are true, not long ago she dreamt about a friend that got beaten up which also happened for real only a day before she had the dream.
Today we went to a get our future read in cards by a man that is supposed to be very good. First Nui went alone because it is more fun not to reveal too much about oneself. Then I went as well. He did a good job telling me about the things I already know, even if accurate it is not really that interesting. I would prefer to know the things I do not know and accurate things about the future, that is what is more fun. He only said that the next three months will be very successful so I hope he is right about that. The girl who had the small clothes store where the man made his reading was in the same age as us and she seemed was very nice. It had started to rain while we were there so we stayed and talked to the girl and a guy, also in the same age, who also was in the store. The guy knew many people with land around here and he promised to help us. Aside from that it is always fun to get to know new people.
Today I also spoke to one of my younger cousins who will come to Koh Samui the day after Christmas. That will be very fun.
More Adventure
Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Today I have been working by the computer most of the day. In the evening we also went to Chaweng because we did not have any more chicken. I will keep nagging about this, but how come one single store on Samui never have any chicken fillets while all other big store have? It is so annoying having to go to the Tesco store in Chaweng when we have one big Tesco just outside our house.
Yesterday we went to look for more lands just as planned. We did not find that many plots of interest, but one that caught our interest. One piece of land with the great view seen on the picture above, only a few minutes away from the main road in central Lamai. The surrounding area was very quiet and not much around, as I want it. So now we have to good options on different places in Lamai, booth extremely quiet with nature all around yet close to everything just as we have right now. The distances to the main road are also almost identical. Right now the Swedish money is not that strong compared to the Thai bath, even if it is a lot stronger than it was half a year ago it is still a big difference in what you get if transferring a big amount. Even if we would make a decision it is a few things that have to be checked and the exchange rates tend to change quiet rapidly so it can turn around in a few days if lucky. I thought the currency would keep getting stronger to my favor but looking back like this, it would have felt good if I had changed the money already.
In the afternoon I went again to check the land and to go the "wrong" way which was also possible. that means going up along the mountain side on the sometimes very bad dirt roads and I also explored some extremely narrow dirt roads behind the land close to where we live. All these small paths are leading out in no where and I if we have one of these lands I can cannot wait to take nice walks with Nala, my dog who is coming here in only one month. Anyway I do not take out anything in advance, that is a lesson I learned a long time ago. dreaming however is something else.
The weather has been good, a little cloudy mornings but the sun has been conquered the sky during the days ending up with calm and clear nights, yet a little cold in the nights but that is normal for this period of the year. Because of this we do not even have to use the fan during the nights.
Exploring Southern Lamai
Text by Olle - Living on Lamai Beach - Monday, December 14, 2009

This weekend we went to explore the southern parts of Lamai more serious. The north parts we know very good but the southern part we have not explored as much. The parts are divided from each other. We went looking for a bigger house and found one very nice just a minute walk from an almost empty section of the beach which are also seen from the house. We have yet to decide if we should move or not. We cannot really decide because if we find that land we are looking for we might be able to live here until we have a house ready but if it will take long to find that land we think it is better to move and have a bigger house. In general I do not like to rent if living permanently at a place because That's just throwing away the money in a way.
There are many great hill areas with nothing but nature to explore all over Samui and even if I have seen it before I love taking a mountain hike and we went quiet far on the bumpy roads.
On Saturday morning I went to the post office and picked up a package that just arrived. It contained a Playstation that I have not used in ages, some christmas gifts and other things that I wanted to have sent down.
In the night we got a little hungry and went out to eat because we had already eaten all the rice and did not feel like cooking new. The time had just passed midnight and we did not know where to go and went further and further. We ended up in Chaweng and after we had taken a cruise along the beach road we went to a small Thai place that looked cozy. After we had our meal we went back and took a drive along the Lamai beach road where we bought some Som Tam from a night open store and went back home.
All weekend my dog friend has been running on and off and this morning he was already here when I woke up. Now he got god manners and know that he has to sit down to get a treat and even if he sometimes wants to come inside he only stick his head inside.
